The Collision

Time: August

My Jeep was nary 2 months old when it was involved in a three-car pile up: I was the first car, so fortunately the Jeep received the least amount of damage.

We were coming home from Simon's first football game. The Jeep had its top off, which was nice as it was warm out. Simon was in the passenger seat, Jonah and his friend Dartanian were in the back seats.

As we pulled up to a stop light, we heard a crash behind us. Jonah was about to say, "What the heck was that?" and I was about to say, "Someone just got hit," when we all lurched forward.

The car causing the accident was totaled and had to be hauled away. The girl driving, a cheerleader, said that she was reaching down to "find her deodorant."

The middle car had two kids in it, one of which hurt her back.

No one in the Jeep was injured, though were were sure rattled. The collision punctured the Jeep's spare tire, and it damaged the bumper, but then we drove away.

I was the only adult in the accident, and the only one who thought to call 9-1-1. The other cars' kids phoned up and texted their friends, but never called for help. Weird, huh?

Useless photo

Near-useless photo of the accident because it's very dark out and my phone's camera has no flash.
